As a game developer or publisher, you can request a quote from your client portal at any time, no matter how many vendors are managing your multiple projects on Alocai.

Here's how to request a quote:

1. Click on the button +Quote request on the Orders page

The request form is divided into 3 steps: Files & Languages, Settings, and Brief.

Files & Languages

2. Provide the name of your request

💭 To facilitate managing all your orders, this name typically includes project name + batch number + date of the request.

3. Attach the files you want to be translated

We support a broad range of file formats. These include: .csv, .pdf, .docx, .dotx, .xlsx, .xltx, .po, .json, .txt, .psd, .jpeg, .png.

4. Select one of your existing projects or suggest a new project that will be created by the project manager

5. Provide the source and target languages for your order

💭 English is pre-selected by default as the source language for all ten target languages. When you select an existing project, the language fields are automatically populated with the project languages.

Note that only one source language is permitted. If your source language must be pre-translated to English, the project manager from the vendor's company can create a new order for the first translation required or add this service as an additional item within the same order.

Settings

6. Specify the type of service you require. Additionally, you can provide the type of content and the platform(s) you are developing the video game.

Brief

7. Select the language service provider (1)

💭 Alocai allows you to collaborate with more than one vendor to manage your localization projects. In this step, you need to select the vendor to whom you want to assign the order.

As a future improvement, when there is only one vendor managing your orders, this vendor will be pre-selected by default.

8. You can additionally provide all your instructions or a message

9. Upload game assets. Sharing screenshots and other game assets will give the linguists working on your video game more context so they can localize it more quickly and accurately

10. Click Create

You will be redirected to the Orders page, where you will find your new order at the top of the list. You can click an order to see its details and progress status.

The vendor will receive a notification for the new order and generate a file with the quote for your approval on the same order page. You will receive email notification of this action.

💭 The vendor should not kick off or invoice this order until a quote is approved.

When you have further comments during the order progress, there is a communication module on which you can send messages to the project manager at any time.
